Please join him in a tour of the Mission Santa Clara De Asis, founded by Fr. Junipero Serra in 1777. Santa Clara is the first mission named for a woman, Saint Clare.  This is the only one of the original mission sites that is now a university campus. The Society of Jesus, the Jesuits, acquired the mission after it had fallen into disrepair. It was opened in April of 1851, as Santa Clara College and became the oldest college in California.
