Chris Salander
Environmental Advocate
Role at UNA: Site Manager, Wildlife Consultant and Education Docent

As volunteer site manager, Chris is responsible for acquiring all of the plants and equipment and overseeing the planting and plant care. He laid out the B&B Garden, the Oak Savannah, and the Oak Woodlands included in Phase I of the restoration. As an activist for People for Open Space in Santa Clara, Chris has led field trips through UNA and conducted animal, plant, and insect surveys. Chris has worked with city council members and staff and the Santa Clara Parks Department on the creation of UNA. Chris is a member of the North American Butterfly Association, The Nature Conservancy, the California Native Plant Society, and the Environmental Action Committee of the Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society.
