Internships
Undergraduates majoring in Environmental Science or Environmental Studies are required to complete an internship or conduct research. To fulfill this, students may take the two-quarter Environmental Vocation Internship. Alternatively, students may seek out an internship at a local environmental agency or conduct research under the supervision of a faculty member. To receive credit for these internships, students should consult with the ESI director prior to enrolling in ENVS 198 or 199.

At the end of the internship, students prepare a paper summarizing the work performed, detailing progress made toward the goals laid out at the start of the project, and reflecting on the experience.  Download the internship procedures here.

Past ESI students have completed many different types of internships, from developing recycling containers for dorms to preparing docent guides for a local restoration project. In addition, a number of students have been placed as interns at the following organizations:

Children's Discovery Museum School for Field Studies
