| Undergraduates majoring in
Environmental Science or Environmental Studies are required to
complete an internship or conduct research. To fulfill this,
students may take the two-quarter
Environmental Vocation
Internship. Alternatively, students may seek out an internship at a local environmental agency or conduct research under the supervision of a faculty member. To receive credit for these internships, students should consult with the ESI director prior to enrolling in ENVS 198 or 199.
At the end of the internship, students prepare a paper
summarizing the work performed, detailing progress made toward
the goals laid out at the start of the project, and reflecting
on the experience.

Past ESI students have completed many different types of internships, from developing recycling containers for dorms to preparing docent guides for a local restoration project. In addition, a number of students have been placed as interns at the following organizations: |
