HOW TO ORDER EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES
SCHEDULING
Scheduling should be always be done by the primary
user - the faculty, student, or staff person who will
actually be using the equipment - in order to avoid confusion.
Scheduling can be done in a number of ways:
- Call (x4520) or drop-in during regular office hours
- 8am - 5pm, Mon - Fri.
- Email (dmaloney@scu.edu)
- Fax (408-554-5010)
- Mail
Please provide:
- Your name, phone number, and e-mail address (if applicable)
- Time, date, and location of use - please provide us with
actual start and ending time of class or event
(and preferred setup time if other than 10 minutes prior
to start time)
- If for a class, name of the department and instructor
- If for a meeting/event, name of the department or student
group
- Equipment you are requesting
- If requesting data projection, software you are using
and need for connecting to the network (if software needs
to be installed by Media Services staff please make arrangements
ahead of time)
- If you are unfamiliar with the operation of the equipment,
please arrange for one-on-one instruction either at the
time of setup or earlier.
We will accommodate last minute requests (subject to equipment
availability), although previously scheduled requests have
priority for delivery and setup. Please note that equipment
availability is limited. Reservations are made on a first
come, first serve basis - early requests will prevent disappointment.
If you are unable to use services that you have scheduled,
early cancellation is appreciated.
All equipment is available for delivery throughout campus,
and most is available for individual checkout.
EQUIPMENT CHECK-OUT
Faculty and staff may check out equipment for instructional,
administrative, or extra-curricular activities. Students
may also check out equipment (with the exception of the laptop
computers and video/data projectors/panels) for academic,
administrative, or extra-curricular activities. Checkout is
subject to equipment availability. High demand
does not allow for personal use of equipment.
Students need faculty or advisor verification only when checking
out video camcorders. Forms are available in Media Services
(or a handwritten note from the instructor will do). Students
may not check out camcorders overnight.
Persons using equipment are responsible for exercising care
to protect items from theft, loss, or damage, and to return
equipment as scheduled. Individuals checking out equipment
assume full liability for lost or broken equipment.
