RETAIL CONSORTIUM FOR MANAGEMENT EDUCATION

The Retail Consortium for Management Education is a management tool that helps member companies improve their management systems and enhance their competitive edge. It enables participants to:

  • Explore common issues encountered by the retail industry
  • Structure discussions around these topics and concerns
  • Develop action plans to address pertinent issues

RCME member companies make a strategic decision as to who should attend. This may depend upon the seminar topic and what is happening in the organization. This might be: 
  • The top executive team 
  • Fast-track junior executives
  • Cross-functional groups of senior managers 
  • Senior regional managers

Annual memberships are $7,500 and provide the following:

RCME Presents - Allen Weiner

So Smart But…How Intelligent People Lose Credibility and How they Can Get it Back
Allen Weiner illustrates how to end career-blocking behaviors and shows that damaged credibility is linked to poor communication skills. He demonstrates how common behaviors in a range of specific areas - competence, composure, character, sociability and extroversion/introversion - affect one’s perception by others - and how to gauge destructive but correctable behaviors that stand in the way of executive success. Allen Weiner, Ph.D. is Managing Director of a leading corporate training and executive development firm, Communication Development Associates. His clients are C-level management in companies such as Amgen, First American, Symantec, and Conoco-Phillips.

The Taboos of Leadership: The 10 Secrets No One Will Tell You About Leaders and What They Really Think
What does it really take to lead? Executive Coach Anthony Smith explores the difficulty of a leader’s job and dispels the myths of leadership. He reveals the truths leaders do not want to own up to such as: leaders don’t play politics, they take it very seriously; charisma shouldn’t make a difference but it does; the leader’s first duty is to groom a successor but it hurts; thou shalt not play favorites with friends and family, except when it makes a lot of sense. Smith is a cofounder and managing director of Leadership Research Institute. His clients have included American Express, Coca-Cola, ESPN, Goldman Sachs, among many others.

RCME Presents - Lisa Haneberg

Two Weeks to a Breakthrough
Certified master trainer Lisa Haneberg, presents a method to “break through” to new ideas and ultimate goals. She explains how to make major progress toward any goal in two weeks with a process that elicits breakthrough thinking and ideas, clarifies goals, breaks through internal and external obstacles. Haneberg has consulted and taught leadership programs at companies of all levels and has held training and development positions at such companies as Intel, Amazon.com, and Black & Decker.
