"RMI proved to be an invaluable program. It gave me the necessary skills not only to obtain a competitive position (and now that I am on this side I see how truly competitive it is!) but also to move through the corporate retail ladder twice as quickly. "

Retail Studies Program Current RSSA Students

RMI students......as you know, the main objective of the Retail Studies Program is to provide students with the qualifications to enter the exciting and dynamic industry in such fields as buying & planning, e.commerce, store management, global sourcing, and information technology.

Arts and Science majors can use general University requirements and electives to fulfill many of the curriculum requirements. The majority of the courses listed in the Retail Studies Minor curriculum are required for Business majors.

You will gain a strong business background and get practical, real-world experience through full-time internships with major retailers. In addition, they take two quarters of the Retail Studies Seminar, which covers such areas as negotiation, merchandise presentation, leadership, information systems, consumer behavior, product development and promotion and strategic planning
