
CCSC also provides Youth Educational Enrichment Programs which includes Juniors for Success and Teens for Success. The Juniors for Success Program offers a variety of services to students in the Santa Clara Valley including tutorial assistance, one-on-one case management, big brother/sister visits, meeting with parents, translation services and the facilitation of meetings between school staff and teachers, and parents. The activities take place at K.R. Smith School and Santee School. The Juniors for Success Programs serves a minimum of 25 students a day, approximately 40 parents in the past three months and receives the volunteerism of students from more than 25 colleges and universities in the area as tutors for the students. Also part of CCSC's Enrichment Programs is the Teen's for Success Program. A collaboration between CCSC and Yerba Buena High School, this program has been started to provide after-school tutoring for the students and English workshops for those of low proficiency.
The Crosscultural Community Services Centers also provide education on the effects of tobacco through their Tobacco Education Program. This program educates youth about tobacco in a number of different ethnic communities. Task Forces of Middle School and High School students were formed to educate elementary school students about smoking, especially the dangers of second-hand smoke. More task forces will be formed to educate in more schools, as well as in family and community outreach programs.
The English and Citizenship Test Preparation Program was started at the Chinese American Cultural Center with the purpose of helping recent immigrants to pass the English and Citizenship Examination for Naturalization.
A new program now in development in cooperation with Homestead High School is a tutorial program which will provide peer-tutoring for students with severe academic problems as identified by their teacher or counselor.
The organization is also working hard to better itself. With the help of United Way, CCSC, has become a non-profit organization and is now working with them to help improve their weaknesses, build on their strengths and take advantage of their opportunities. CCSC is also continually working on their goals, vision and program planning. They have also recieved funds to rennovate their existing site which will soon enclose three offices, a classroom, conference room, and kitchen and supply room.
As a non-profit organization the Crosscultural Community Services Center receives funding and assistance from both social service organizations, businesses and individuals.
