
Established in 1982, the Filipino Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization created to assist and promote Filipino and other minority owned businesses. Along with this major objective the Filipino Chamber of Commerce also promotes the development of business skills through educational projects and the cooperation between businesses and communities. This organization also strives to uphold high ethical standards within the community; act as a medium for communication, information sharing and business networking; and promote participation in civic and community service. The Filipino Chamber of Commerce offers a variety of services including: small business seminars and workshops on subjects such as financial management, taxes and time management; and assistance in business start-ups which provides small support groups, mentors and help in financing. The Chamber also provides information and referral services, the opportunity for businesses to advertise during meetings, in mailings and in trade fairs or exhibits. The Filipino Chamber of Commerce sponsors regular meetings and forums to promote networking, as well as trade missions to the Philippines. Through this organization there is also the opportunity for discount privileges for members from businesses participating in the Chamber of Commerce, as well as the ability to participate in civic services sponsored by the Chamber.
