Started by the Santa Clara University Multicultural Center in 1995, Global Village brings
together the diverse Santa Clara University community. There are a number of activities offered.
Booths, selling various ethnic foods and crafts, are set up by the various SCU clubs and
independent vendors. Performances are also put on by SCU clubs and independent ethnic
performers in the Santa Clara Valley. Performances in the past have included Mexican folk dancing, both performed by off-campus groups. There are also performances
by the many Santa Clara University groups including the SCU Latin Jazz Ensemble, Hawaiian dancing, poetry reading, line
dancing and musical ensembles.
