A United Way Agency, Korean-American Community Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1979. They provide a wide range of services that focus mainly on recent immigrants, the elderly and the youth. Supported by a small staff and a large group of dedicated volunteers, KACS offers educational, social and recreational programs to serve the Korean Americans of the Santa Clara Valley.

The goals of Korean-American Community Services, Inc. are to provide programs that contribute to the well-being of the Korean-American community; to foster a sense of community among the elderly and to offer a sense of cultural integrity and educational opportunities to the youth, as well as helping immigrants adjust to American life through job-training and educational programs.

Information and referral
Translation and interpretation

Educational Services:
English language classes
Seminars and workshops on information such as health, personal growth and immigration laws
Sewing classes
Advocacy

After-school tutoring

"Senior College" program
Caregiver Support Program

Brown bag food distribution
Free health clinics
Outreach program for home-bound seniors

Transportation and escort assistance

Future programs that Korean-American Community Services, Inc. is planning include employment and family counseling, a Korean library, and leadership training for the youth.
