The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Association of the Santa Clara Valley was established 13 years ago to memorialize Dr. King and to continue to pursue the aims of his dream. Presently the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Association sponsors a number of major events in celebration of Dr. King's Birthday. These include a Religious Night, Community Awards Breakfast and Dinner Party, as well as the Freedom Train Ride which travels from San Jose to San Franscico.
The Dr. King Association is also working on developing a school curriculum with a focus on African American culture, as well as a number of other projects.
