Housing and Travel

Housing will be provided for students participating in Santa Clara University's chemistry REU program. The 2005 REU students lived at The Alamedas, a residence hall located less than two blocks from the research labs in the Daly Science and Alumni Science Buildings. Each participant lived with a roommate, also from the summer science program, in a large room with a private bathroom. Each room has two separate phone lines, one for each occupant, and jacks for plugging your computer directly into the campus network. Refrigerators and microwaves were provided for each room.

There is a swimming pool at The Alamedas, and REU students will also have access to campus fitness and recreational facilities such as the Malley Fitness Center.

In addition to the $4000 stipend, limited funds will be available to help defray the cost of transportation to SCU for the summer program. For further details, please contact Dr. Carrasco (mcarrasco@scu.edu, (408) 551-1878).
