Santa Clara UniversitySTUDENT BODYSanta Clara University actively seeks diversity. In fall 2007, the University enrolled 5,261 undergraduate and 3,424 graduate students, with male/female ratios at 46/54 undergraduate and 57/43 graduate. In the same term, 48 percent of undergraduate students and 60 percent of graduate students identified themselves as people of color. Approximately 57 percent of entering Santa Clara University undergraduate students are from California; the others are from 39 states and 16 foreign countries. In 2007-08, 79 percent of the undergraduate students received some kind of financial aid—scholarships, grants, or loans. The University’s commitment to learning is expressed in the fact that 93 percent of freshman students advance to the sophomore year, and 85 percent graduate within six years, among the highest percentages in the country. |
