International Student Orientation
All international students, both first year students and transfers, are required to attend the ISS International Student Orientation on Tuesday, Sept. 15, which addresses How to Succeed in the US Academic System, Intercultural Adjustment, and important visa rules and regulations for maintaining their non-immigrant status in the U.S. It is mandatory for all international students on the F-1 or J-1 visas to attend this ISS orientation session.
In addition to the ISS orientation session, incoming freshman international students are required to attend the remainder of the University’s Session 7 Orientation, Sept. 16-17. This fall orientation session will be similar to those held in summer. Incoming international transfer students are required to attend Transfer Student Orientation on Sept. 18.
New international students planning to live on campus can move into their housing assignment as early as Sunday, Sept. 13.
Freshman U.S. Citizens Abroad
Students Santa Clara University welcomes students every year who are U.S. citizens (U.S. dual citizens or U.S. permanent residents) and have attended international high schools outside of the United States. We encourage you to register for Session 7 Orientation (September 16–17) to benefit from arriving to campus early and meeting other students who have traveled a great distance to attend Santa Clara. International Student Orientation, on September 15, is optional for those who would like to attend.
