Social Security Number
| The Social Security Office will no longer issue social security numbers for any purpose except work. If you are offered a job on campus, you need to request that the potential employer write a letter for you to take to the Social Security Office. Sample employment offer letter You will also need a letter from International Student Services stating the nature of the employment to be engaged in and identifying the employer for whom you will be working. It takes approximately 2 to 3 days to process this letter. Please do not request a letter if you do not plan to work on campus. Unfortunately, the advisors cannot support your request if your purpose is for a driver’s license or to open a bank account.
