Executive Director

Kathy Kale '86 joined the group as the Executive Director of the Alumni Association in August 2003. After many years in high-tech and a brief career with the San Jose CyberRays, she's thrilled to be back on campus full-time. When not at Santa Clara events or meeting new alumni, Kathy enjoys spending time with her family, running, reading, traveling and watching sports, especially Bronco soccer!

Associate Director, Events

Maureen Muscat '91, M.B.A. '99 joined the Alumni Office team in August 2006 after working on a contract basis for most of the previous year. Maureen is happy to be back at SCU full-time having worked at the university in several different departments for 11 years. When not busy with Alumni events, Maureen enjoys spending time with her two children, family, and friends (many of whom are fellow Broncos). And as if she doesn't do enough event planning at work, her favorite thing is to entertain at home with gourmet dinners, special event parties, and casual barbecues.

Carey DeAngelis

Associate Director, Marketing & Communications

Carey DeAngelis '05 joined the group as Associate Director of Marketing and Communications in October 2007. She previously worked on campus as the Marketing Manager of the SCU Dining Services department. In her spare time, Carey like to cook big family style meals, watch Grey's Anatomy and ER, and run. She recently completed a 5K race and is training for a second one. She is an avid Boston sports fan, as well as a Bronco fan, and is beyond excited for her 2007 World Series Champions, the Red Sox!

Senior Assistant Director, Community Service and Spiritual Programs

Mary Modeste Smoker '81 joined the Alumni Office in September 2003 after working in education as an assistant athletic director and part-time teacher. She and Jeff Smoker '82 have four sons and a daughter. Mary grew up on the Bronco campus watching her dad Ron Modeste '55 coach football for 30 years. She is honored and excited to be back at SCU. When not working or attending one of her children's sporting events, she enjoys relaxing at home with her family, reading, gardening, or just trying to find some quiet time.

Alma McChesney

Office Manager

Joining the office staff officially on April 12, 2004, Alma McChesney brings more than 20 years of office management experience to the Alumni Office. Alma has been with SCU since 1999 working in the University Office of Communications and Marketing. Prior to her time at SCU, she was in charge of human resources, budgeting, and production coordination at United Defense and Sunnyvale School District. Alma grew up in neighboring Willow Glen. She enjoys spending time with her son, playing no-stress chess, going to movies with friends, listening to various music, swimming, and trying to keep up with Anny in kickboxing.

Priscilla Corona Joined the Alumni Office team in October 2005. She has been with SCU since 1997 working in the Business School for the Graduate Business Programs office and most recently as the Administrative Assistant for the Academic Marketing Department.

Maria von Massenhausen

Maria von Massenhausen '87 joined the Alumni Office in January 2008.  She has been in the office since the beginning of 2009 and is thrilled to be back on campus and looking out on Mission Gardens each day.



When not at work, Maria and her husband Arnie '86, are busy raising three teenagers, A.J., Maggie and Cloie.  Life is never dull as they follow their children to various soccer fields, football stadiums and volleyball courts each weekend.



An avid Giants fan, Maria lives for the day when her team will take it all!

Muriel Isaac

Assistant Director, Events

Muriel Isaac joined the team in March 2009 after working at Stanford University for four years.  After starting in the Graduate School of Business Alumni Association where she planned reunions, she worked with the undergraduate Alumni Association managing regional chapters in Philadelphia and Santa Barbara.  "I feel fortunate to have been warmly welcomed into the SCU family, and am excited to have the opportunity to help plan events like the Grand Reunion, which will bring the community together and showcases the best that SCU has to offer."  A New York City native and University of Pennsylvania alumna, Muriel enjoys keeping up with friends and family both near and far, reading, dancing (especially hip hop and salsa), and playing Wii games.
