Getting Ready for Grand Reunion
What are the dates of the 2013 reunion weekend?
This year's Grand Reunion begins on Thursday, October 10 and ends on Sunday, October 13.
How can I make sure that I don't miss any information related to Grand Reunion?
Well, you're in the right place! The Grand Reunion website contains everything you need to know about this special weekend, so please make it your first destination for the most up-to-date reunion information. You can also make sure that you receive mailed announcements and emails by updating your contact information in the SCU Alumni Directory. Help us keep you in the loop!
How do I RSVP?
Online RSVP is also no longer available at this point; however, we can take you as a walk-on. Just come visit us in Donohoe Alumni House and we can get you signed up.
How much does it cost to attend Grand Reunion?
The majority of events scheduled during the weekend are free to attend; prices for paid events will be made available via the mailed invitation as well as the online schedule.
Do I have to be celebrating a milestone year to attend Grand Reunion?
No, you don't! While Grand Reunion is a wonderful opportunity for those classes whose graduation years end in 3 or 8 to come back and reconnect, it is a weekend full of chances for all Broncos to return to Santa Clara and remember how special this campus truly is. Events specifically planned for reunion classes are geared towards those audiences, but the majority of events offered during Grand Reunion are open to all alumni, regardless of their graduation year.
Is Grand Reunion family-friendly?
It most certainly is! Saturday especially offers the most activities your family will be likely to enjoy, such as the Bronco 5K Run/Walk, the Homecoming Picnic, SCU Arts Festival, and the Reunion Mass. Families enjoy attending Sunday's especially tasty Reunion Brunch as well. Take a look at the "Special Accommodations and Services" section below if you would like information about child care.
Can I request special meals because of dietary restrictions?
Yes; please indicate any dietary restrictions on the RSVP form. We will send all requests to campus catering. Please make sure to notify the event staff prior to your meal(s) to ensure that your request(s) are accommodated.
What if my plans change and I need to cancel my RSVP?
We sincerely hope that does not happen, but if it does, please call the Alumni Office at 408-554-6800 or 866-554-6800 (toll free) by Friday, September 27 so we can process your cancellation. Refunds will not be given after Friday, September 27 due to catering commitments.
How do I let my classmates know that I'm coming back for the reunion? How can I find out who is attending?
After you've RSVP'd, your name will appear on the "Who's Coming" list on your class website. The list will be available beginning in mid-August, and will be updated at least once a week until the reunion. If your class has a Facebook group, you can let them know you're coming that way, too; check your class website for a link to the group (if applicable). You may also connect with fellow alumni via the Alumni Directory; don't be afraid to reach out to classmates and tell them you want to see them in October!
During Grand Reunion
Where do I check in for reunion activities?
Visit your home on campus, Donohoe Alumni House; there, you can pick up your name tag, grab a weekend schedule, and enjoy some light refreshments. Check-in hours will run from Thursday, October 10 at noon through Saturday, October 12 at 5 p.m. If you are only coming for one of the school receptions or your class dinner, you can just check in directly at those events.
How should I dress for Grand Reunion Weekend activities?
We recommend that you dress comfortably and encourage you to dig out your SCU gear and wear it proudly around campus. The reunion weekend, for the most part, is a casual affair; however, your class dinner Saturday night gives you the opportunity to dress up a bit and wear cocktail attire. ATTENTION LADIES IN 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983 & 1988: Your Saturday night parties are in tents and on grass. Therefore, you are encouraged to wear flats or wedges for your comfort. Friday night's Wine Tasting Reception will take place on grass as well.
How can I find my friends at the reunion?
Each reunion class will have different colored nametags, which will make it easier for you to spot your classmates. You will also be able to leave notes for classmates at your class' check-in table if you're trying to connect with anyone in particular.

The wireless network SCUGrandReunion will be made available to all Grand Reunion guests from Thursday, October 10 to Sunday, October 13. No password will be required and network access will be complimentary.
