Grand Reunion Weekend: Your Values, Your Assets, Your Way: The Benefits of Smart Estate Planning
1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Estate planning is much more than drawing up a will or setting up a family trust. Choose from two interactive sessions, each tailored to a different life stage. Both sessions will help you understand the benefits of smart estate and gift planning aligned with your values, while providing for your family and diminishing your tax burden.
Both sessions are open to anyone who's interested, but we recommend choosing the one that best matches your personal circumstances.
Session one (1 - 1:45 PM)
- You are getting started in your career and have not yet started a family.
- You have a young family and are mid-career, your will is out of date, and you have multiple competing priorities.
Session two (2 - 2:45 PM)
- Your children are grown, you are experiencing the joy of being grandparents, and you have retired or are planning to do so in the near future.
- You are single/widowed and have been enjoying retirement for several years.
Both sessions will be led by Charles H. (Chuck) Packer, J.D./MBA '80. Chuck is an Attorney at Law with Hopkins & Carley, where he is a member of the Family Wealth & Tax Planning Department. He focuses his practice in the areas of strategic planning for high net worth individuals and families through estate, gift, and philanthropic tax planning.
Mr. Packer chairs the Planned Giving Advisory Board at Santa Clara University and is also Chair of the Santa Clara University Kasner Estate Planning Symposium.
