Pressberg, Eric

Eric Pressberg ’10 was nominated a Peace Corps Malaria Hero. This competition honored individuals from across Africa that consistently went above and beyond the call of duty to fight malaria. Pressberg had been living and working in Zambia since 2012 as a Peace Corps volunteer, serving as an aquaculture specialist being active in his community.

In addition to his primary project of working to build fish ponds and encourage aquaculture to ensure food security, Pressberg worked with a local community health worker to interview individuals and gather data on mosquito net usage. Upon discovering that mosquito nets were often misused, they created a poster to promote proper usage. Over several weeks they toured the community, photo-documenting cases of proper usage. The best photos were turned into a poster that now hangs prominently at the local clinic.

Pressberg is now a graduate student at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.

Adams, Jeffrey

Jeffrey Adams '10 played the role of Happy in  Arthur Miller’s Pulitzer Prize–winning masterpiece, Death of a Salesman. Adams spent much of his undergraduate studies dissecting the intricacies of the script and delving into its themes with each paper he wrote.

“I think it’s a beautiful play,” Adams told the Santa Clara Weekly. “I think it captures elements of every human emotion, and that’s something that’s hard to accomplish in a single piece of work. It has humor and tragedy, and I think it captures family dynamics in a really unique way... It makes you ask about what’s important to you. I think every performance should make the audience feel and make the audience walk away asking questions.” Death of a Salesman runs through April 26

Boniface, Brooke

Brooke Boniface ’11 is Santa Clara's new class giving officer in University Relations. Brooke graduated magna cum laude from Santa Clara in just three years with a double major in Political Science and History. She was obviously an incredible student and has already supported our office’s efforts greatly through her student job in the call center, where she ranked No. 1 in credit card rates her first year and had an unbelievable 99 percent fulfillment rate during her second year. We also had the opportunity to feature her student story in an annual fund piece during her senior year, so several of you will recognize her face. In her “spare time”, she also served as Opinions Editor for The Santa Clara student newspaper. Following her undergraduate degree from Santa Clara, Brooke served in Teach for America for two years in Phoenix. Most recent, she was tremendously successful as an ad sales rep for Yelp.  We are incredibly happy that she is coming back home to Santa Clara to join our Reunion Fundraising team.
