Tamburelli, Steve

Clos Du Val Winery appointed industry veteran Steve Tamburelli MBA ’87 as president, overseeing all operations for the winery located in Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District.

A Napa Valley native, Tamburelli joined Stags Leap Wine Cellars as chief operating officer in 1998, spent 11 years as general manager at Chappellet, and recently held the role of chief operating officer at Flora Springs Winery.

Oppenheimer, Peter

The Board of Directors of The Goldman Sachs Group announced the appointment of Peter Oppenheimer MBA ’87 as an independent director of the firm, effective immediately. Oppenheimer will be a member of each of the firm’s Audit, Risk, Compensation and Corporate Governance, Nominating and Public Responsibilities committees.

“Peter’s 25 years of broad experience across important industries will add a valuable perspective to our Board of Directors,” said Lloyd C. Blankfein, Chairman and CEO. “We appreciate his willingness to serve as a director and look forward to benefitting from his judgment and counsel.”
 
Mr. Oppenheimer is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Apple, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of electronic devices and related software services. Before becoming Chief Financial Officer at Apple, he was Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller from 2002 to 2004, and prior to that, from 1996 to 2002, he served first as Senior Director of Finance and Controller for the Americas, then as Vice President and Controller of Worldwide Sales and later as Vice President and Corporate Controller. Before joining Apple, from 1992 to 1996 Mr. Oppenheimer was the Divisional Chief Financial Officer of Finance, MIS, Administration and Equipment Leasing Portfolio at Automatic Data Processing, Inc., a leading provider of human capital management and integrated computing solutions, and prior to that, from 1988 to 1992 he was a consultant within the Information Technology Practice at Coopers & Lybrand, LLP.
 
Mr. Oppenheimer is a member of the boards of the California Polytechnic State University Foundation and of the Sacred Heart Schools in Atherton, California. He is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University, and received an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Laird, Laurie
Laurie Laird '87 has left Santa Clara University as associate director of the Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education to assume a new position as associate director of Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest.
 
In the 15 years that Laird has devoted to community-based learning at SCU, she has affected the lives of more than 11,000 students. Her efforts as associate director of the Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education have been key in the creation of strong and sustainable partnerships between the University and more than 60 community organizations in the South Bay.
 
In 2011, California Campus Compact (CCC) awarded her the Richard E. Cone Award for Excellence & Leadership in Cultivating Community Partnerships in Higher Education. A coalition of leading colleges and universities, CCC established the award in 1999 to inspire institutions to deepen their efforts to create and sustain authentic community campus partnerships.
 
Among her accomplishments, Laird founded and co-directed the Jean Donovan Summer Fellowship Program, which provides grants for undergraduate students for summer community-based social justice work. She also led a delegation of faculty and staff on an immersion trip to El Salvador each year.

Agrimonti, Lisa

Lisa Agrimonti ’87 married her partner of eight years, Verlynn Pinkney, on December 7, 2013 in Minn. Lisa is a shareholder and energy law attorney with the law firm of Briggs and Morgan, P.A. in Minneapolis. Verlynn is a retired retail executive.
