Thoughts
and Prayers from Fr. Engh
To all our alumni who are
suffering from the ravages of Hurricane Sandy, our prayers go out to you
and your families. The impact of the storm has been unimaginable in the devastation
it left behind – the destruction of homes, the loss of power and infrastructure,
the displacement of multitudes of people, and the death of loved ones. Though
physical distance may separate us, the Santa Clara University community remains
with you in our hearts.

En
Garde SCU!
Watching
men wearing knee-high leather boots and throwing swords across the room feels
like stepping into the days of Louis XIII. But this is just a typical day
in Stage Combat, a special course, taught by Kit Wilder ’89,
that takes students back to a time when conflict was dealt with by nothing
but a face-to-face test of skill and swords. Watch the students learn to "fight"
