Association History

Early in Santa Clara University's history, students recognized the unique and exceptional atmosphere the school fostered, not only in its physical beauty, but also with its sense of camaraderie that encourages life-long relationships. It was in this setting on April 27, 1881 that a small group of students gathered to form the Santa Clara University Alumni Association and draft its constitution.

2006 marked the 125th Anniversary of the founding of the Santa Clara University Alumni Association, one of the oldest institutions of its kind west of the Mississippi. Remaining faithful to the values which inspired its founding, the Association continues to build and strengthen the relationship between the University and its alumni.

Membership is free and automatic to all 73,000+ alumni from the undergraduate and graduate programs on campus.

The Alumni Office is located at the Donohoe Alumni House, the former infirmary of the University. Visit www.scu.edu/map to see a map of today's campus.
