2008 NoLA Immersion Trip

Join SCU Alumni for Others on the 3rd Annual Alumni Immersion Trip

Santa Clara University Alumni Association is proud to continue the Alumni Immersion Program!  The 3rd Annual Alumni Immersion Trip will be February 2 – 8, 2009.  We will work with a non-profit organization, whose mission is to rebuild homes for families who lost everything when Hurricane Katrina hit.  Alumni will have the opportunity to immerse themselves with the local community and see firsthand the conditions that these individuals face on a daily basis.  This is a great opportunity to meet new friends, reconnect with old ones, & help transform a family's life forever.

1st Annual Alumni Immersion Trip: New Orleans, 2006/2007

In December 2006/January 2007, the Santa Clara University Alumni Association AFO program embarked on its first ever alumni immersion trip.  Mary Smoker '81, Assistant Director for Community Service & Spiritual Programs, led 34 alumni and friends to New Orleans to assist in the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita rebuilding efforts.  We were the first Jesuit University to bring an alumni group to New Orleans to assist in the rebuilding effort.  The group maintained a blog during the trip, and took a number of photos and videos during the trip:
