Congratulations to the Class of 2009 Law School Graduates The Alumni Association would like to extend a warm Bronco family welcome to the Class of 2009 Law School graduates. The Class of 2009 will complete their time on the mission campus with their commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 23. The 2009 commencement speaker will be Bryan A. Stevenson. Mr. Stevenson is a nationally recognized civil rights authority and the Executive Director for a death penalty advocacy organization. Following the Law School commencement in May, John Chambers, Chairman and CEO of Cisco Systems, will deliver the commencement speech for Santa Clara University’s undergraduate Class of 2009 on Saturday, June 13. Jeffrey Skoll, founding president of eBay, now a philanthropist and chairman of the Skoll Foundation will speak at the Graduate School ceremony on Friday, June 12. |

Michael E. Engh, S.J. Becomes Santa Clara University's 28th President
Amid colorful banners and reminders to protect the needy in the global quest for sustainability, Michael E. Engh, S.J. officially became Santa Clara University's 28th president on Friday, April 24.
Attended by about 1,500 guests, Engh's inauguration took place at the school's Leavey Event Center, part of two days of understated but buoyant celebration of the Jesuit university's first new leader in 20 years. Santa Clara University's MBA Programs Among Nation's Top 15, says U.S. News & World Report The part-time MBA program at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business was ranked No. 10 among such programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report magazine’s annual “America’s Best Graduate Schools” issue. Student Spotlight: Biochemistry Major Wins Goldwater Scholarship
Junior biochemistry major Michael J. Hayes has won a prestigious Goldwater Scholarship, an award for students expected to one day be leaders in the fields of mathematics, natural sciences, or engineering.
He was one of 278 sophomores or juniors nationwide to receive the annual award, which is named after the late U.S. Senator Barry M. Goldwater. Read More >>
