Law Student Organizations

Student organizations serve an important function in the law school experience, complimenting the University’s educational offerings with academic, professional, social, and career development opportunities. The following paragraphs provide information on the Student Bar Association (SBA) and student groups.  Details are also available at  law.scu.edu/life/student-organizations.cfm.

Student Bar Association

All students enrolled in the School of Law are members of the SBA and are entitled to participate in its functions and activities. The SBA Board of Governors, which consists of elected officers and elected representatives of each class, is the governing body of the SBA. It serves also as an important communication channel between law students and the faculty and administration. As a charter member of the American Bar Association Law Student Division, the SBA communicates with student bar associations at other law schools in the Law Student Division. The SBA allocates funds to various law student organizations, and sponsors events of its own throughout the school year.

Current law student organizations are listed below. Student groups desiring formal status as a law student club or organization (and thus qualification to apply for SBA funds) must contact officers of the SBA and the Student Services Office.
