Andrea Zurek is one of the four Original Founders and Managing Directors of XG Ventures. She has been named one of the top 25 tech angels by Businessweek recently. In addition, she was recently named one of 25 Influential Business Women in San Francisco/Silicon Valley You Should Follow on Twitter 2010. She has also been profiled in the 2009 Top 40 Under 40 in the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal.
Andrea’s been an active angel investor since 2006. XG Ventures has invested in over 20 companies including Aardvark (acquired by Google), AppJet (acquired by Google), ChaiLabs (acquired by Facebook), Plusmo (acquired by AT&T), and Tapulous (acquired by Disney).
Andrea worked at Google for over 7 years, starting in early 2000, as one of the first ad sales executives. She built and managed the West Coast sales region, leading over 30 sales people with annual bookings of $100M+. She was responsible for inking over 200+ deals of new business, across multiple verticals, including building original partnerships with eBay, Wal-Mart, E*Trade, CNet, Cisco, and Macy’s.
She has over 16 years of sales experience in both the print and Internet advertising industries.
While at Google, she also founded and managed a group of national advertising agency trainers who were responsible for educating the top advertising agencies, and their Fortune 500 clients from Madison Avenue to the local San Francisco market.
Prior to joining Google, she worked at Computerworld, an IDG publication, selling print advertising to high tech, enterprise companies. Andrea received both her BA in English, as well as an MBA in Marketing from Santa Clara University. Andrea is also a member of the Board of Directors at Sand Hill Angels. She has a passion for Italian automobiles, cooking, travel, and competes in the Skip Barber regional, open-wheel race car series. Andrea’s been featured in BusinessWeek, Haute Living Magazine, Inc.com, ReadWriteWeb, 57 Degrees Magazine, The New York Time and TechCrunch.
