The Santa Clara University Accounting Association (SCUAA) is a student-run organization that
provides undergraduate accounting majors with professional and social activities designed to
stimulate and develop the skills and relationships essential to an accounting career.
The club is managed by five senior officers who are elected in the Spring quarter of their junior
year to organize SCUAA activities for the following year. They are aided by four junior representatives
who are selected by the officers during their sophomore year to help run the club events.
Club activities in the fall quarter center around preparing senior accounting students for on-campus
interviews for full-time position, which typically occur in October. Events include mock interviews,
resume critiques, interview technique workshops, etiquette workshops, panel discussions on
accounting career opportunities, and Meet-The-Firms (MTF) night, which unites our students with
Bay Area firms interested in hiring SCU accounting students. MTF night is open to all SCU students
and is attended by sophomore, junior, and senior accounting students, as well as some CAAP, finance,
and economics majors.
Club activities in the winter quarter center around preparing juniors for on-campus interviews for summer internships, which typically occur in February. Events include mock interviews, resume critiques, interview technique workshops, and panel discussions on internships.
Club activities drop off in the spring quarter as students prepare for summer vacation and elect officers for the following year. Events include a pizza social that allows new accounting majors to meet the accounting professors they will have in their program and helping with the accounting recognition dinner.
