About the ACE Business Partners

The challenge of identifying, attracting and retaining smart, sophisticated business people who are technologically literate, globally astute, and operationally agile requires companies to devise more imaginative hiring practices. The Accelerated Cooperative Education (ACE) program of the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University offers its corporate partners an innovative opportunity to connect with its best and brightest students. The mission of the ACE program is to develop young managers who can rise to leadership positions in a business environment driven by technology, globalism, and change.

The ACE program is an initiative rooted in Santa Clara University’s commitment to an integrated education which includes experiential learning. A cornerstone of the program is its emphasis on a rigorous business curriculum couched within the broader context of a liberal arts education and combined with the development of leadership skills.

Since 1998, the Leavey School of Business has joined hands with businesses and organizations throughout the Bay Area in ACE Program partnerships that are symbiotic in nature. Students benefit by gaining depth and experience in their business education through internships, the advice of mentors, and job shadowing experiences. Companies and service learning organizations benefit from the additional part-time resources, as well as privileged access to recruiting from the top tier of Santa Clara University’s student body.

ACE partner companies join the Leavey School of Business in preparing young men and women for leadership in the 21st century. As an ACE partner, each organization provides mentors for students and identifies company representatives to speak in topical seminars. Each partner also selects an intern to work with the company the summer between the students’ junior and senior years, with the potential of continuing employment part-time through senior year and beyond.

If you, or your company, are interested in becoming an ACE business partner, please contact Brenda Versteeg, for more information about the benefits of partnering with ACE.
