Biography
Fred Whittlesey, CEP, Senior Consultant, Hay Group
Fred Whittlesey is a Senior Consultant with HayGroup based in San Francisco. He specializes in executive compensation and equity-based compensation. Fred is co-founder and past Board member of Global Equity Organization (GEO) and past Chair of the Advisory Board of the CEP Institute.
His compensation consulting experience includes positions with Towers Perrin, Mercer and Radford and his corporate experience includes roles as the Director of Global Compensation for Amazon.com and Broadcom Corporation.
Fred has authored dozens of articles which have appeared in major compensation journals and periodicals and has presented his ideas at compensation conferences around the world. His most recent works are “Behavioral Economics and Equity Compensation” published in GEOnomics2009 and “Measuring the ROI of Compensation Expenditures” in the The Compensation Handbook. He has presented dozens of webcasts for professional associations and corporations, is currently the host of “Keeping Up with Fred Whittlesey,” a monthly audiocast sponsored by GEO, and is a regular contributor to The Advisors’ Blog on CompensationStandards.com.
Fred received his MBA from UCLA and his BA in industrial/organizational psychology from San Diego State University. He is a Certified Equity Professional (CEP) and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
