Jennifer George, Partner, Compensation & Benefits, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP
Jennifer George is a partner in the San Francisco office and a member of the Compensation & Benefits Group. For almost 10 years, Jennifer has focused her practice on assisting companies with offerings of equity incentives and other benefits to employees and consultants outside the United States. Most of the companies Jennifer works with are U.S. multinational companies. Her experience ranges from assisting small private companies to Fortune 500 companies. Her work on the implementation of employee incentive plans involves tax (both employee and company perspectives), securities laws, exchange control regulations, labor laws and related issues. Jennifer not only assists companies with complying with current foreign rules and regulations, but also strategizing for upcoming changes and reacting quickly to these changes. She also advises companies on how to efficiently manage global programs and make smart choices regarding grant types to minimize legal filing requirements to the extent possible. Before joining the firm, Jennifer was a partner in the San Francisco office of Baker & McKenzie LLP, working in its global equity services group for almost 10 years. Jennifer is a member of the Global Equity Organization, the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals and the California Bar Association. She is admitted to practice law in California and was previously a Certified Public Accountant.
Jennifer received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory University in 1994 and received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of San Francisco in 1999.
