Takis Makridis is the President and CEO of Equity Methods, LLC. Takis has considerable experience in working with finance and HR executives to address their equity compensation valuation and financial reporting needs, and he remains critically engaged with thought-leaders from consulting firms, public accounting, and academia in addressing emerging issues. Since its inception over 10 years ago, Equity Methods has supported more than 450 companies, including 28 Fortune 100 firms, by providing stock-based compensation valuation and reporting services that address all stages of the grant cycle—from pre-grant modeling and design support to outsourced reporting with full customization.
Takis is a nationally recognized speaker at industry conferences and frequently leads executive briefing sessions and webinars to enhance knowledge sharing among client firms and disseminate best practices. Prior to writing Advanced Topics in Equity Compensation Accounting, Takis coauthored the third-fifth editions of Accounting for Equity Compensation with Barbara Baksa. Both texts, published by the National Center for Employee Ownership, have been required materials for the Certified Equity Professional (CEP) examinations. He has also contributed articles to various technical and business publications and been cited in outlets such as the New York Times and Compliance Week.
Takis currently serves on the advisory boards of the Certified Equity Professional Institute at Santa Clara University and the Department of Finance at Arizona State University. He holds a B.S. in Economics and Finance from Arizona State University and an M.B.A. from Oxford University.
