Morning Breakout Session

Even with all the talk about FAS 123R, many CEPs are still scratching their heads. Deferred tax assets and Additional Paid In Capital pools are complex and challenging. Join Susan Garvin, CEP as she navigates this territory and explains it in everyday language.
CEPs face challenges everyday. Some challenges are mundane where other situations challenge our thinking and our very sense of right and wrong. Join CEPs Wendy Jennings and Joan Matlack along with business expert and ethicist Dennis Moberg in a discussion of challenging decision making and choices.

General Session: CEPs - One Group, Many Paths: Career Opportunities for CEPs

Many CEPs are involved in Stock Plan Administration, yet the knowledge gained from the CEP and the prestige of the designation can open many other doors. Join a diverse group of CEPs, including paralegal Judy Brandon, software designer Elizabeth Dodge, stock broker Emily Van Hoorickx, and international equity compensation expert Marlene Zobayan to learn how the CEP designation has helped them.

Afternoon Breakout Session

Administration for an international stock plan is challenging, complex, and constantly changing! Ed Burmeister, Baker & McKenzie, Carol Rutlen, ExpatEdge, and Carine Schneider, Smith Barney Stock Plan Services, have joined forces to bring you a top 10 list of practical wisdom for international stock plan administration.

In the wake of recent FASB rulings, can broad-based ownership survive? What does the future hold for equity compensation and employee ownership as companies comply with the new rules and regulations for stock option expensing? Learn how these changes may affect your role and your company's culture. Share your views in an open discussion with Corey Rosen of the NCEO as you discuss these topics and other issues that impact the ownership culture of your company.

Join experts Saundra Genoni and Debbie McGrath from Merrill Lynch and David Priebe from Gray Cary for an exploration of the history of 10b5-1 plans and practical guidance for designing, implementing and maintaining a successful plan at your company. The panelists will answer your questions so you can develop a roadmap that hits the highlights and avoids the pitfalls.

CEPs who attended the Symposium and participated in one selection from each breakout session have earned six hours of continuing education.
