Santa Clara Startup Expo 2012

The Santa Clara Entrepreneurs Organization (SCEO) club held the second annual StartUp Expo on Wednesday, March 7th  in the California Mission Room.  The unique career fair, focused on local startups, was sponsored by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and The Career Center.  Approximately 60 Silicon Valley startups attended the event, connecting with more than 300 Santa Clara University students. 

The fair was open to all majors, and participating employers offered paid and unpaid internships as well as part-time and full time jobs.  Startup Expo also featured several Santa Clara Alumni and their startup companies, including RoboteX Inc, Sizemyk, Stylematic, Cahoot and Optown.  Several California Program for Entrepreneurship (CAPE) graduates also participated seeking interns for their startups including Red Seraphim, Megan’s Living Well, SePalz, and InnoVentions.  SCEO President, Anthony Prieto commented on the event, “This year was a fantastic turnout; the alumni, student and startup participation was very successful and we look forward to continuing and expanding this event in the future.” 

The purpose of the event was to expose startups in and around Silicon Valley to Santa Clara University and our exceptional student body.  The fair allowed student and employers to interact in a way that would be beneficial for both parties.  With a premier location in the heart of Silicon Valley, Santa Clara University is the perfect place for startup companies to showcase themselves and hire prosperous students and that is what this event was designed to accomplish.
