Daniel J. Aguiar is the Dean's Executive Professor of Entrepreneurship and Executive Director of Entrepreneurship Programs. In this role, Dan will teach courses in entrepreneurship and be responsible for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, our new California Program for Entrepreneurship (CAPE), as well as growing and promoting our entrepreneurship curriculum.
A successful entrepreneur himself, Dan founded Front Line Strategic Consulting in 1992, growing the firm to a client base of more than 200 clients, $10 million in revenue and 50 employees. He sold the company to Navigant Consulting in 2004 and remained as a managing director, developing the company’s life science consulting division into a world leader.
Prior to founding Front Line, Dan served as director of strategic planning and corporate development at Pharmetrix in Menlo Park, and as a managing consultant for consumer products for Swander, Pace and Company, a private equity firm. He was also a consultant with SRI International after working as a research associate at UC Davis Cooperative Extension.
Dan is also a former Santa Clara University lecturer in Strategic Marketing Management and International Marketing in the MBA program from 1994 to 1999.
Dan earned his MBA from UC Berkeley, his MS in Agricultural Economics at UC Davis, and received dual undergraduate degrees in Agricultural and Managerial Economics, and History, from UC Davis.
