Albert V. Bruno, Ph.D. is the William T. Cleary Professor at Santa Clara University, where he has at various times served as founding director of the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, associate and acting dean, and marketing department chair. Professor Bruno earned an MBA and Ph.D. at the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.

Michael Fern
Assistant Professor of Management
Michael J. Fern (Ph.D., UNC-Chapel Hill) is an Assistant Professor of Strategy at Santa Clara University. His research focuses on the development, use, and transfer of knowledge in the contexts of innovation and entrepreneurship. Specifically, his research explores: (1) how organizations transfer knowledge across divisions to support their innovation efforts; (2) the mechanisms through which universities transfer social science knowledge to organizations; (3) how entrepreneurs rely on knowledge in their decision-making during new venture formation; and (4) how new product development teams exploit knowledge during product development activities.

Dean's Professor of Entrepreneurship
Mary Furlong, Ed.D. is an expert in the boomers and seniors market. In 1985, Mary started SeniorNet and in 1996 she founded ThirdAge Media. She has raised over $110 million in venture capital and sponsorships. She founded Mary Furlong & Associaties in 2003. She co-produces the annual What's Next Boomer Business Summit, Silicon Valley Boomer Venture Summit and Boomer Business Plan Competition.

Terri Griffith
Professor of Management
Terri L. Griffith (Ph.D Carnegie Mellon) is Professor of Management in the Leavey School of Business. Her research and consulting interests include the implementation and effective use of new technologies and organizational practices. Recent work addresses team tools and methods for innovation, though she has specialized in virtual/distributed collaboration since 1984. Prof. Griffith's current field research includes two Fortune 100 tech companies (funded by the National Science Foundation), both focused on generating the greatest value from their teams in complex environments. Her blog, Technology and Organizations, has been named to "Top" lists by a variety of groups focused on professors who blog.

Robert Hendershott
Professor of Finance
Bob Hendershott joined the Santa Clara University faculty in 1993. He was appointed a Henninger Family Fellow in 2001. His research interests include private equity, entrepreneurial finance, and bank consolidation. A productive scholar, Bob has published a number of articles in finance and investment journals, including the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Investment Management, and Real Estate Finance. Bob is a founding partner of BH Equity Research, a private consulting firm. He received his BSEE from Stanford University and earned his Ph.D. in finance from the Ohio State University.

Tammy Madsen
Chair, Associate Professor of Management
Tammy L. Madsen (Ph.D., UCLA) is a Breetwor Fellow and Associate Professor of Strategy at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University. Tammy’s research interests are at the intersection of strategy, competitive dynamics and organizational evolution. One stream of her empirical work examines the competition between entrants and incumbents following industry transformation, the effects of deregulation on firm and industry evolution, and the evolution of heterogeneity in performance among firms. Her work in this area, with co-author Gordon Walker, Southern Methodist University, received the 2002 Glueck Best Paper Award from the Business Policy & Strategy Division (BPS) of the Academy of Management (AOM). Her most recent work explores how innovation contributes to sustained differences in superior profits among rivals. She recently co-edited a special issue of the Strategic Management Journal on competitive heterogeneity and her related work received a 2005 Distinguished Paper Award from the BPS Division of the Academy of Management. She has published work in the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Knowledge Management and International Marketing Review.

His managerial experience includes marketing and sales, operations, design, and general business management. He has extensive international business experience and his career has included both public and privately held companies.

Oliver Yu
Professor
Oliver Yu is president of the STARS Group, a technology and resource strategy consulting firm spun off from SRI International. Previously, Yu was director of energy and technology strategies for SRI, where he managed technology and resource projects worldwide, and acted as a senior advisor to Commonwealth Edison, the Taiwan Power Company, the energy minister of China, and the president of Philippines. Before SRI, Yu spent 15 years as a manager of planning analysis for the Electric Power Research Institute. Yu holds a bachelor's in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, a master's in the same field from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a master's in statistics and a doctoral degree in management science and engineering from Stanford University.
