Undergraduate Internships

The CIE offers those enrolled in the Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Program the opportunity to apply new entrepreneurial skills in emerging Silicon Valley startups.  A variety of paid and unpaid internships are available throughout the year.

In addition, undergraduate students enrolled in the BUSN 145 Entrepreneurship Practicum course have the opportunity to intern for a quarter at both emerging and established startups.  This 2-unit course is available in Fall, Winter and Spring Quarters.  Undergraduate students pursuing a Minor in Entrepreneurship will also have an opportunity for a startup internship through MGMT 198E  Internship in Entrepreneurship.  For more information, please contact

About the Job

Position Overview: LeftLane Sports is seeking a part-time individual to manage a host of internet marketing tasks. This person will be responsible for daily communication with a growing list of over 2000 affiliates, and will be the key person in developing new relationships with top-performing affiliates. This individual will play a central role in driving member acquisition, revenue growth, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing internet marketing campaigns in the fields of social media, viral marketing, search engine marketing, and/or affiliate marketing programs. Qualifications: Education:

College Junior or Senior Marketing major or other related field.


Required Experience:

·       Experience in SEM, affiliate, and/or e-commerce space

·       Strong analytical skills (Google Analytics, Excel)

·       Strong project management skills, organization, and attention to detail

·       Strong ability to communicate via email or phone

·       Informed of industry trends and best practices

·       Ability to succeed outside of a formal setting

·       Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills

·       Passion for the Outdoors is a Plus

Preferred Experience:

·       Experience with comparison shopping and display advertising

·       Additional knowledge of social media, SEO, and email marketing

·       Knowledge of Outdoor/Fitness/Action Sports industry


Primary Duties: Affiliate Marketing

·       Oversees and grows affiliate marketing programs and efforts

·       Manages affiliates, agency, and network relationships

·       Explores new affiliate opportunities and communicates with affiliates/partners about promotions and contests

·       Manages growth of affiliate marketing with new websites


Additional Duties:

·       Monitors expenses and cost effectiveness of programs

·       Records and analyzes key metrics including ROI

·       Identifies and tests new growth opportunities in display networks and comparison shopping programs

·       Manages comparison shopping and data feeds and encourages placement in new and relevant engines

·       Manages and explores video ads, banner ads, and partner display opportunities

·       Supports the e-commerce team and provides secondary assistance as needed with initiatives

·       Communicates key trends for primary areas of responsibility

·       Performs data analysis to problem solve and identify opportunities

·       Influences promotions and messaging; ensures that these are on-brand and avoid conflict with brand partners

·       Assists e-commerce team with identifying key trends and industry best practices

·       Participates in trade shows and conferences

·       Sales forecasting and reporting capability

·       Knowledge of sales processes and ability to follow established sales procedures and policies



·       Makes decisions efficiently and effectively

·       Ability to identity, analyze and creatively solve problems and difficult situations

·       Skilled in planning, organizing resources, and establishing priorities for work assignments for optimum results
