The CIE is pleased to welcome Maynard Webb, LiveOps Chairman and author of Rebooting Work, Transform How You Work in the Age of Entrepreneurship, to campus for the Winter CIE Speaker Series on February 6, 2013. Maynard will share his story about his extensive experience in developing and leading high-growth companies and provides insight into his new book. VCIC News
SCU Team Nest Capital will travel to Los Angeles to compete against teams from Arizona, Colorado, San Diego, Thunderbird, and UCLA in the West Regional Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC®). held in March at the University of Southern California. The graduate student network Entrepreneurs Connection organizes the internal competition to determine the competing team. This event is done in a full-scale replica of the competition-special thanks to the EC team and volunteers for a fantastic event. The CIE coordinates the team's faculty advisor, Dr. Robert Hendershott, Associate Professor of Finance, who will accompany the team to the competition and also serves on their mentor team, which includes Andy Bartley, Rocky Pimentel and Steve Foster. Now in our fifth year as host, SCU will again welcome the Silicon Valley Regional VCIC to campus. The VCIC is the premier MBA competition for venture capital and entrepreneurship since 1988, and now has 50 events on 4 continents with over 1,000 MBA students competing. The graduate student network Entrepreneurs Connection coordinates the exciting event, working closely with the Graduate Business Programs Office and the CIE. This event will be held on Friday, February 15, in the Leavey School of Business. New classes, interesting electives and an internship experience come together immersing students in the world of entrepreneurship in the heart of Silicon Valley. We accept applications on a rolling basis-students are welcome to stop in and learn more.
