Influencing Skills for Today's Leaders

One thing that is a constant requirement in today's complex work environments and challenging jobs is your need to be able to influence people and events. And, as your leadership and management responsibilities expand, your need for effective influencing skills increases. You may want to enhance your ability to manage up, drive an important initiative, convince key stakeholders in your organization to support your proposals, inspire your team, or create relationships where none existed before or heal those that have been damaged over time. Whatever your specific challenges, being an excellent influencer makes your job easier, and helps you move your organization toward achieving results in a positive and collegial fashion.

Truly effective influencing requires a healthy combination of organizational savvy and interpersonal skills. Influencing is about being able to accurately assess and diagnose the situation, and then move things forward without direct authority, pushing, forcing or telling others what to do. And that is what this program is about.

In this program you will:

  • Explore the challenges specific to leaders in today's more complex business environments
  • Learn influencing strategies, tools, and techniques you can apply directly to your work
  • Build a win-win influencing approach and style that will be effective in your organization and within your corporate culture
  • Bring a specific influencing challenge that you are currently facing and work with and through that challenge during the workshop
  • Develop an action plan to take away with you and implement on the job the next day

Who should attend?

Leaders and managers who want to develop a pragmatic approach to influencing, understand how to operate effectively beyond their sphere of control, and move beyond their current comfort zone.
