The workplace is full of really smart people. They're creative, strategic and brilliant at their jobs. But many have one fatal flaw that keeps them from climbing the corporate ladder. They're...
So Smart, But... Not a People Person
So Smart, But... Lacks Executive Presence
So Smart, But... Can't Communicate
So Smart, But... He just doesn't "get it"
And the list goes on. Every day, thousands of businesspeople receive good performance reviews that are missing a key ingredient-the missing piece is unspoken, but everyone knows what it is. These executives can be brilliant in IQ point. they understand every technical aspect of their jobs. They come up with amazing ideas. They should be naturals to rise to the top of the corporate ladder. But the words "leadership potential" never appear in their evaluation.
Join us at Santa Clara University on February 27, 2007 for a provocative program, based on Dr. Allen Weiner's new book by the same name, So Smart But. Dr. Weiner will explain why some people can be "so smart" about everything concerning their jobs except the thing that matters most: communication. He will not only explain what might be at the heart of a person's credibility crisis but also how to overcome career-blocking behaviors and jump start a career that's "just OK".
Drawing on thirty years' experience working with executives, Dr. Weiner will provide powerful tools to help leaders and managers raise performance to their highest levels - yours as well as those who report to you.
By participating in this program you will learn:
- How credibility doesn't ride on word choice
- Ways to market your breadth as well your depth
- The flawless technique for thinking on your feet
- How to communicate every leader's three visions
- The fastest way to improve your ability to influence
In this program, Weiner will show how anyone can find ways to make measurable improvements in how they present themselves that will enhance their credibility.
