Program Description

In order for organizations to thrive in these disquieting times, all managers must become leaders who can inspire, motivate, advance innovation, and collaborate to get extraordinary things done. This workshop will be led by Jim Kouzes, co-author of The Leadership Challenge and L. J. Rose, one of the most experienced and highly regarded Master Trainers for The Leadership Challenge® Workshop (TLCW). This is the only program workshop led by Jim Kouzes that will incorporate material from the newly released fourth edition of The Leadership Challenge. In this powerful three-day program, Jim Kouzes and L. J. Rose will explore lessons on becoming an exemplary leaders.

Program Topics
Based upon the instructors' completely revised and updated third edition of The Leadership Challenge, this program will explore the "Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership". They are:

  • Model the Way—find your voice and set the example
  • Inspiring a Shared Vision—envision the future and enlist others
  • Challenge the Process—search for opportunities and experiment and take risks
  • Enable Others to Act—foster collaboration and strengthen others
  • Encourage the Heart—recognize contributions and celebrate the values and victories

Faculty
Jim Kouzes is the co-author (with Barry Posner, Ph.D.) of the BusinessWeek bestseller, The Leadership Challenge, and other best-selling books, including Credibility, and Encouraging the Heart. They also developed the highly acclaimed Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) and LPI Online, 360° assessment tools, which provide valid and reliable feedback on the use of The Five Practices. Jim is an executive fellow of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business and the chairman emeritus of the Tom Peters Company. He is an internationally acclaimed author, scholar, and consultant on the subject of leadership.

L.J. Rose is a Master Trainer of The Leadership Challenge and has worked cross-functionally with emerging leaders and executive teams on getting results. She has consulted with companies ranging in size from 20 to 150,000 employees on implementing leadership competencies, shifting cultures from compliance to commitment, and re-working so-so ideas into high-impact projects. Passionate about ideas, talent and results, L. J. is accomplished at facilitating difficult business and people-driven issues.


*Refund and Cancellation Policy: All programs must be received prior to the start of a program.

*Cancellation Policy and refunds:
Cancellations made more than 2 weeks prior to a program will incur a $100 processing fee other than The Leadership Challenge Workshop which will incur a $150 processing fee. For cancellations that occur less than 2 weeks prior to a program, 50% of the program fee will be refunded. If a participant is a no-show for a program, no refund will be given. A full refund will be given in the event the program is canceled.

*Substitutions and Rollover policy:
Participant substitutions are allowed for all programs other than The Leadership Challenge Workshop (TLCW). Due to the extensive pre-work for TLCW, no substitutions will be allowed and a $150 fee will be incurred for each roll over.

*For participants who opt to roll into a program scheduled at a later date, a $75 fee will be incurred for each rollover other than The Leadership Challenge Workshop which will incur a $150 processing fee for each roll over. Since program prices are subject to increases, participants who roll to a subsequent program will also be responsible for any price increase.
