    Join FAI in welcoming Councilman Dr. Jeff Ritterman. Dr. Ritterman is a retired cardiologist who introduced a ballot initiative to add a one cent tax per ounce to sweetened beverages in Richmond, CA.

    The tax profits will be used to fund programs to curb obesity, especially in children. The ballot initiative will be voted on by Richmond residents in the November election.

    Dr. Ritterman will discuss the importance of curbing childhood obesity in America and how his taxing sweetened beverages will help.
