Jamie Monk

Student Research Assistant, Food & Agribusiness Institute

Jamie is a sophomore at Santa Clara University and is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She works as a Student Research Assistant for the Food and Agribusiness Institute, working specifically with Dr. Baker's Childhood Obesity Survey. Jamie is passionate about using technology to approach hunger issues throughout the world, and plans to use her engineering skills to design products for people in developing countries. She recently travelled with the Food and Agribusiness Institute to Burma and saw many different aspects of organic and large-scale farming. During Fall 2014, Jamie will be studying abroad in Sydney, Australia. Originally from Colorado, she enjoys hiking, going to the beach, and exploring beautiful Northern California. Jamie is so excited to be a part of the passionate FAI team!
