IDIS 695: Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Brazil

Course Description:
During your trip to Brazil, you will visit two major cities: San Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. As the 9th largest economy in the world with an expected growth rate of 4.5% this year, your studies will focus on many areas of the booming Brazilian economy. You will study emerging segments of market growth, the role of government policy influencing the economy, the challenges and opportunities for entrepreneurs in Brazil, the challenges and opportunities for multinationals in Brazil, the emerging technology sector and the impact of global sports events (World Cup and Olympics) on the Brazilian economy. The course content will be viewed with a Silicon Valley perspective focusing on technology, media, telecommunication and biotech, and investment in the hottest sectors of growth.
Prerequisites:
1.) 2 semesters residence in MBA program
2.) Good academic standing including a 3.0GPA
Fees: 3 units tuition + $3,500 administrative fee (includes a $500 non-refundable deposit and will be charged if withdrawn from program after acceptance)
