Students who complete the Managing Technology and Innovation Concentration are eligible to have the Concentration noted on their transcripts (please see the Bulletin for the list of requirements). Take advantage of this focused set of courses to deepen your overall understanding of: the innovation context, organizing for innovation (both large firm issues and start-ups), the process of innovation (team and project management), and systems design. These courses will better prepare you to engage with the Santa Clara University technology and innovation community. Consider a deeper read than your normal beach novel: A Great Leap Forward: 1930s Depression and U.S. Economic Growth. Prof. Field is a global expert on economic history. His new book can help you put a positive spin on our current economic downturn. Ask your friends for about their best guess for the most technologically progressive decade of the century. Bet them some money. Then bring out your copy of A Great Leap Forward and show them the arguments for the years 1929-1941. I won't give away the story, but I can assure you that you will find opportunities to use the ideas in this book.
