Managing Technology and Innovation TodayFree (w pre-reg) Tour of Solyndra Facility April 26Saturday, Apr. 7, 2012From the SF Roundtable of the CSCMP organization: "Join CSCMP for lunch and an opportunity to tour the Solyndra headquarters in Fremont on April 26th. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to view one of the most highly visible, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities ever built in Silicon Valley which took only 10 months from construction to production. Shahzad Mahmud, Solyndra Vice President Facilities and EH&S, who was responsible for the design and construction of the $300Mil+ state-of-the-art facility, will lead the tour where materials handling robotics are still intact (though not operational) followed by Q&A afterward. Learn how an automated rail system moved parts through the assembly process and how robots that resembled "a big freezer with wheels" maneuvered around the factory transporting panels from one machine to another."
