Students who complete the Managing Technology and Innovation Concentration are eligible to have the Concentration noted on their transcripts (please see the Bulletin for the list of requirements). Take advantage of this focused set of courses to deepen your overall understanding of: the innovation context, organizing for innovation (both large firm issues and start-ups), the process of innovation (team and project management), and systems design.

These courses will better prepare you to engage with the Santa Clara University technology and innovation community.  Relevant University organizations include: the Leavey School of Business’ Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship; the SCU Center for Science, Technology, and Society; SCU's Tech Law Forum; and especially, the student-run Entrepreneurs’ Connection.

Nominations for Tech Awards

Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010

The following message comes from Dr. Craig Stephens, our Director of Education for the Center for Science, Technology, & Society:

As you may know, the Center for Science, Technology, and Society at Santa Clara University has recently undertaken an expanded partnership with the Tech Museum on the Tech Awards. We will continue to manage the judging process in 2010, as we have in the past, but this year we are also handling the nomination and application processes as well. This includes outreach efforts to solicit nominations for the Tech Awards, which is why we're contacting you now.

If you know of organizations or individuals who are using innovative approaches involving technology to improve the human condition, anywhere in the world, we would like to encourage you to make nominations for the Tech Awards. There are five categories for the Tech Awards - Education, Economic Development, Equality, Environment, and Health. Nominations can be submitted at: http://www.techawards.org/nominate/

A successful Tech Awards program depends on high quality nominations. The process takes only a few minutes, but through your efforts, a deserving organization or individual could end up winning one of the $50,000 cash prizes for each category, or at least become a Tech Awards Laureate who gains invaluable recognition and publicity for their efforts to make the world a better place!

If you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact one of us.

Thanks for your time,
Craig Stephens
