Graduate Business Admissions - MSIS Financial Aid Information

MSIS Financial Aid

Merit-based and need-based financial aid is available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents of the United States. The aid comes in the form of loans, scholarships, and project assistantships. To apply for consideration, graduate students must submit the FAFSA (Free application for Federal Student Aid) [link will open new window], and file with the appropriate office by the applicable deadline. It is also necessary to download and complete the Graduate Business Financial Aid Application and submit it before the specified deadline. It only needs to be submitted once per academic year. Students need not be admitted to the University before applying for financial aid. However, no offer of assistance will be made before a student is admitted. Scholarships and MBA project assistantships are administered by the School of Business. To be considered for these programs, the applicant must:

  • be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • be in good academic standing
  • demonstrate financial need (based on information provided on the FAFSA form)

Merit-based financial aid is available to international students enrolled in the MSIS program. To apply for consideration, download and complete the Merit-based MSIS Financial Aid Application for International Students and submit it before the specified deadline. It only needs to be submitted once per academic year. Students need not be admitted to the University before applying for financial aid. However, no offer of assistance will be made before a student is admitted.

Most aid covers partial tuition only, and is in the form of project assistantships, which require work in administrative and/or research roles within the Business School. The School of Business also administers funds that provide assistance for students of diverse backgrounds, and for those with extenuating circumstances.

Applications for scholarship and MSIS project assistantships have the following two deadlines:

  1. For Fall Quarter, MBA/MSIS financial aid applicants must submit the FAFSA by March 1 prior to starting in Fall. Students starting a program in Winter or Spring quarters should file the FAFSA two to three months prior to the start of the relevant quarter.
  2. The MBA/MSIS Financial Aid Application (PDF form) deadlines (one application should be filled out per student per academic year to be considered for scholarships):
