Coaching

The Women Leaders for the World (WLW) program is a combination of classroom instruction and group coaching.  The participants are organized into small teams of three to four people and receive coaching during the class on small group exercises.  Following the class, they participate in six, one-hour phone sessions that track their progress on their breakthrough projects.

The intended outcomes of coaching are:

  1. Each Women Leader for the World participant will receive 10 hours of coaching to support them in achieving short-term goals of their individual projects and  expand their leadership skills to carry them to success in the future
  2. The coaching conversations help them to:
  1. Overcome the inevitable obstacles and stay on track to reach project goals;
  2. See new ways to accomplish their projects;
  3. Solidify leadership competencies such as strategic planning, raising funds for their organizations, building local and global support networks, and creating/managing teams effectively.
  1. The participants in each coaching group become a network of support available after the completion of this aspect of WLW.
Over the first four WLW programs, we have called on the services of 10 different coaches.  All have worked in the corporate, academic, or not-for-profit world as coaches for many years.  We estimate that the combined years of experience for these 10 individuals is over 180 years.  Collectively and individually they are extraordinary.  In addition to their general qualifications, they provide valuable bridges between the class years.  Their continuity enables us to strengthen our network connections.
