Margaret (Peg) Snyder

Peg was the Founding Director of UNIFEM (The United Nations Fund for Women) and a member of the Committee to Organize Women’s World Banking. She worked 15 years in Africa, including co-founding the center for women at the UN's Economic Commission for Africa. Since retiring, Peg has been a fellow in International Studies at Princeton University and a Fulbright Scholar in Uganda. Among her writings are 3 books on the history of the global and African women’s movements and on women entrepreneurs and peacemakers.
