Meet the Leadership Team


Claire Phan, President

Claire graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Economics. After college, she served with City Year Sacramento, an education focused AmeriCorps program that partners with schools in low income communities to support students who are at risk of dropping out of high school. These experiences inspired her to pursue an MBA. With this degree, she hopes to make a positive difference in her community. She is an MBA candidate at Santa Clara University. With her free time, Claire enjoys reading, spending time outdoors and eating ice cream.

Ashley Buschmann, VP of Operations

As a first year MBA student, Ashley is extremely excited to see what possibilities await her at Santa Clara. She began her academic career at The Ohio State University in 2005 and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2009. She then followed her lifelong dream of moving to California, the Golden state, and settled with her husband in San Jose.

She has found working on campus and helping students pursue their educational goals very satisfying. It has even inspired her to continue on with her own education. In her free time she loves traveling, hiking, wine tasting, and spending time with friends, her husband and their miniature dachshund, Newt.

Liz Theis, VP of Operations

Liz graduated from Marquette University in 2010 with a degree in History. After college, she worked in a variety of roles from retail management to higher education. She now serves as Community Development manager for Lone Wolf Development, a software development company for tabletop roleplaying gamers. Her new role and passion for leadership development led her to pursue an MBA. With this degree, she hopes to help her company grow, and bring her knowledge and experience to the booming tabletop gaming industry. In her past and current roles, Liz has spent a lot of time organizing and executing events and conferences, so she’s excited to bring her knowledge and skills to the events hosted by WIB.

With her free time, Liz enjoys reading (a lot of reading), gaming, and spending time with her husband and their dog, Kaylee.

Teena Bhatia, Head of Donor Relations and Sponsorships

Teena started her MBA at Santa Clara in Fall 2013 and hopes to major in Digital Media and Entrepreneurship. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Economics and Political Science from Hunter College in New York City. Thereafter she worked in Investment Banking and Hedge funds as Research Analyst before moving out to the Bay Area in 2013.

Currently, she is serving as a Business Development Manager at a securities compliance firm in San Francisco. In her spare time, she chooses to partake in outdoor activities such as trekking, hiking, and biking. Additionally, she enjoys the thrill of white water rafting and water tubing.

Natalia Zhou, Treasurer and VP of Finance

Natalia graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a degree in Accounting and Finance. After college, she worked at Deutsche Bank Hong Kong Office as a financial business manager, specialized in market equities and corporate finance businesses.

Natalia is currently an MBA candidate at Santa Clara University. She joined the MBA program in 2013 Winter and is expecting her graduation in 2015 Spring. With her free time, Natalia enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.

Revati Sahasrabudhe, Treasurer and VP of Finance

Revati is in second year of her MBA (Finance and Marketing). She has a Bachelor’s in Marine Zoology from India and was a teacher before moving to the US. She has worked for Bank of America since 2007 doing Operations and Risk analysis and has extensive experience in customer service, relationship management and inside Sales. She is a member of both the WIB and FC at SCU. When not at school or work, Revati enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching classic movies and cooking.

Ruchi Khurana, VP of Marketing Operations

Ruchi is a first year MS Information Systems student at the Leavey School of Business. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering from India in 2012. Prior to attending SCU, she worked at Infosys (India) as a Product Developer handling different roles and responsibilities. Coming from a technical background, Ruchi is exploring new ways to efficiently synergize business with technology. She has organized various cultural and technical events in the past and wants to continue her passion in event management by organizing WIB networking events.

During her free time she enjoys dancing, photography and traveling.

Sam Prasad, VP of Marketing and Events

Sam graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing in 2011. Since then, she has worked at a start-up in Mountain View, and is now a business manager at SCU. Working with student life, she oversees the finances and marketing for SCU’s Housing, Bookstore, and Dining units. Outside of school and work, Sam loves to run and box. She also pursues writing on the side, and is currently running her own blog.

Krishna Sameera Gandikota, VP of Marketing and Social Media

Sameera is starting her MBA program at Santa Clara University this Fall 2014. She graduated from National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. After college, she was recruited to a leading steel manufacturing conglomerate, Tata Steel, as a Manager in Projects where she worked for 2+ years. She later moved to United States in February 2014.

Her business experience includes people management, contract management and project management for a multi-billion dollar company. She also has experience in event organization, marketing and networking. Sameera joined Women in Business to enhance and showcase the quality, ability and power of women in workforce.

In her free time, she enjoys exploring new places with her husband, trying different cuisines (Italian is her current favorite) and going on hikes, sometimes even to the gym. Additionally, she is a trained classical singer who doesn’t shy away from singing a couple of Bollywood tunes as well.

Geoff Holland, Special Projects Coordinator

Geoff is starting his 4th year of the MBA evening program at Santa Clara University. Along with helping WIB, he is concentrating on improving the overall experience of all MBA students through his connection with the Council of the Graduate School of Business. Geoff graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Business Management prior to attending Santa Clara. He will complete his Masters degree with concentrations in Managing Innovation and Technology and Leading People and Organizations.

Currently, Geoff is a recruiter at the Valley Transportation Authority where he is responsible for recruiting to over 1600 operations positions. He is looking forward to completing his education at the end of March, but plans to continue to participate in networking and school functions. In his spare time, Geoff enjoys Mountain biking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
