LeslieLeslie Cheng, President

Leslie is in her final year as an MBA student at SCU with a concentration in Marketing. She currently works at the College Board as an Educational Specialist. In her role, she is the sales and customer service support for secondary schools and institutions across twelve western states. She graduated from UC Davis in 2008 with a BA in International Relations and was a member of the Delta Sigma Pi Co-ed Business Fraternity. This is Leslie's second year involved in Women in Business, previously participating as VP of Marketing and Events. As a part-time student, she joined Women in Business to get more involved in school, meet new people, and gain experience in marketing. In her free time, she enjoys trying new food (either baking or eating), dancing, shopping, and spending time with friends.

KathrynKathryn Davis, VP of Marketing and Social Media

Kathryn is entering her second year in the MBA program with a concentration in Digital Marketing and eCommerce. Prior to starting the MBA program, she worked in the luxury fashion industry in managerial and operational positions. After being active on campus in her undergrad at UC San Diego, Kathryn joined Women in Business to connect with and promote the amazing network of women business professionals at SCU. In her free time, she loves to travel, learn new things, and attempt to teach herself different languages.

JessicaJessica Laughlin, VP Operations & Conference Planning

Jessica is in her final year in SCU's MBA program with a dual concentration in Managing Technology and Innovation and Leading People and Organizations. She currently works full time as a project manager at SyWest Development, a fully integrated commercial real estate firm. Responsibilities include management of project teams, schedules, and budgets to complete due diligence, project entitlement and construction management for all projects within a portfolio consisting of 54 separate properties that exceeds 665 acres and 2.2 million square feet of leased building space. She graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2006 with a BS in Civil Engineering and Urban Planning. Jessica is LEED certified, and a member of several professional organizations including; the International Council of Shopping Centers, Urban Land Institute, US Green Building Council, and American Planning Association.

In her spare time she volunteers with local food banks and participates in endurance cycling events to support charities, such as the Aids LifeCycle ride. Jessica is dedicated to promoting women in leadership roles.

MimiMimi Mortezai, VP of Marketing and Events

Mimi Mortezai is in her last year of the MBA program with concentrations in Marketing and International Business. She previously worked in the publishing industry, developing and managing content, layouts and more under stringent deadlines. Mimi has been actively involved with WiB and the SCU networks since her first year and has enjoyed meeting new people and planning and promoting great events. She loves to travel in her free time---learning about new cultures and exploring exciting places. She also practices yoga and enjoys spending time with friends.

Tammi Tammi Schmidt, VP of Marketing Operations

Tammi is in her final year of her MBA studies and is concentrating in Marketing. Her professional background is in the SaaS technology industry. For seven years she has led several client services teams, cultivated client relationships, and delivered strong results for numerous operations initiatives. She is passionate about helping women develop a stronger presence in business, specifically in the tech world.

Tammi loves running, basketball, soccer, hiking, and anything outdoors! She coached for Girls on the Run, which is a non-profit organization that promotes physical and mental health for young girls. Tammi also stays busy with wedding planning, and in the summer 2014 she will be marrying her fiancée whom she met in the MBA program!

JenJen Visscher, VP of Operations

Jen is entering her second year of the MBA program with an emphasis on Marketing and Food & Agribusiness. This is her second year on WIB. Prior to relocating to the Bay area in August 2011, Jen managed international programs with the Sunshine Foundation of Canada, a not-for-profit organization that fulfills dreams for kids with severe physical disabilities and life-threatening illnesses.  At Sunshine, Jen was routinely relied on to deliver innovative solutions under strict budget constraints. Jen believes everyone has an interesting story to tell. Want to share yours?

ShwetaShweta Vyas, VP of Web Content

Shweta is in second year of the MBA program. She has four years of work experience in pre-sales and project management roles in telecommunication and pharmaceutical industries. She joined Women in Business to meet inspiring people, expand her network and organize great networking events. In her free time she enjoys to read and travel.

MonalisaMonalisa Chati, VP of Finance and Treasurer

Monalisa graduated from Bangalore University (India) with a bachelors degree in business management. She is now in her second year of MSIS (Information Systems) program at SCU's Leavey School of Business. Monalisa is currently working at ServiceNow, an Enterprise IT Cloud Company in the Bay area as a FP&A Intern. Prior to joining SCU, she was working at IBM where she held a variety of different roles. Her most recent role included marketing IBM's offshoring capabilities and demonstrating cost savings for its Fortune 500 clients.

Monalisa is also the President of Finance Connexion network. In her spare time, she likes to watch movies, spend time with friends or just bake a yummy chocolate cake!
